
During 2013 Vassa, Sayadaw U Kovida will conduct 3-monthsMeditation Retreat at Nandaka Vihara from 23rd July to 23rd October.
Sayadaw U Kovida is a meditation teacher mainly teaching foreign yogis (meditator) in Pa Auk Tawya Forest Monastery.
Sayadaw has 17 Vassas, being ordained in the Mahāvisutārāma Monastery in 1996. He studied Buddhist studies at Mahāvisutārāma Monastery (Salin township) and Ma-soe-yein Monastery in Mandalay. He passed the exams and obtained Sāsanadhaja-Dhammācariya.
After that he taught Buddhist studies at Ma-soe-yein Monastery in Mandalay in 2003. Ma-soe-yein Monastery is a renowned Buddhist monastery in Mandalay.
Sayadaw U Kovida has also practiced meditation.
In 2005 he has practiced meditation in the Mahasi Meditation Centre at the main centre in Yangon.
In 2006 he practiced meditation in Pa Auk Tawya Meditation Centre at the main centre in Mawlamyine. He has practiced under the guidance of the Most
Venerable Pa Auk Sayadaw and other Sayadaws such as Sayadaw U Kañcana, Sayadaw U Revata etc.
In 2008, Sayadaw U Kovida began to teach meditation in Pa Auk Tawya Meditation Centre. Currently, both Sayadaw U Revata and Sayadaw U Kovida taught mainly foreigner meditators in Pa Auk Tawya Meditation Centre.
Sayadaw U Kovida has also taught meditation retreats in foreign countries.
He has conducted meditation retreats in Korea (2010) and Latvia (2010). He has also given Dhamma talks in other countries such as Singapore (2010), Malaysia (2011) and China (2013).
Nandaka Vihara is honoured to be able to invite Sayadaw U Kovida to teach meditation here during Vassa 2013 period. Therefore we are opened for
registration from all who wants to come to learn meditation.
Due to limited space, priority will be given to those who can register for longer period of meditation. That is, you can register for 3 months or 2 months or 1 month or weeks or days; priority will be given to those who can register for longer stay in the retreat.
